I really liked the comment that the governments don't study their own history. Bob Hoye reports that even the Romans created agencies to provide work during economic downturns. Despite the evidence that this kind of government intervention made things worse, it was repeated again in the 1930s. And Bob thinks it will be repeated as well in the next severe recession.
